A golden night for Harry Kane called for a trophy presentation worthy of the moment. At the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony, the England striker received football’s most prestigious individual award from inside a bespoke Louis Vuitton Trophy Trunk — bringing together sporting excellence and the House’s storied art of travel.

Handcrafted by Louis Vuitton’s artisans at its historic workshop in Asnières-sur-Seine, the trunk is dressed in the House’s iconic Monogram canvas. Its front panels open to reveal a gold-painted “V” — a double reference to Vuitton and victory — while brass corners, locks and clasps lend it the finish of a treasured travel piece.
Inside, black microfibre lining frames the Ballon d’Or logo beneath the lid, giving the trophy a striking setting of its own. Every detail turns the presentation into a ceremony within a ceremony: a moment designed not simply to hold the prize, but to honour what it represents.

The result feels perfectly suited to Kane’s landmark achievement. In a sport measured in split-second decisions and unforgettable goals, this was a moment to pause: the Ballon d’Or in gold, presented in a trunk made with more than 160 years of Louis Vuitton savoir-faire behind it.

For another year, Louis Vuitton created the Trophy Trunks for both Ballon d’Or winners, Harry Kane and Alexia Putellas. The commission continues the House’s tradition of creating trunks for the trophies of major international sporting competitions — an expression of its enduring belief that “Victory travels in Louis Vuitton”.
