Louis Vuitton has unveiled an extraordinary new store in Cape Town, transforming its presence at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront into an immersive celebration of travel, art and exceptional craftsmanship.

Opening its doors on 30 July 2026, the new Louis Vuitton Cape Town store brings the unmistakable codes of the French Maison to one of South Africa’s most beautiful waterfront destinations. More than a traditional boutique, it has been conceived as an experiential space where fashion, fragrance, design and contemporary African creativity exist in effortless conversation.
Located within the Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre at the V&A Waterfront, the boutique presents a carefully curated selection of Louis Vuitton’s women’s and men’s collections. Clients can discover leather goods, ready-to-wear, shoes, accessories and Les Parfums Louis Vuitton, alongside the House’s iconic travel pieces.
At the heart of the store lies its exquisite Winter Garden, a serene private shopping space overlooking the Victoria Basin.
A New Luxury Destination in Cape Town
The experience begins before guests have even stepped inside.
An intricately carved wooden façade welcomes visitors into the Louis Vuitton universe, its tactile surface offering a subtle reference to the distinctive texture of the House’s emblematic Epi leather.
Inside, the women’s leather goods collection is displayed against handcrafted Japanese wallpaper. A hypnotic V-shaped design creates a striking backdrop, introducing the Maison’s signature visual language through an elegant interplay of pattern, texture and form.

Rifted oak chairs provide an intimate setting in which clients can explore women’s accessories and Les Parfums Louis Vuitton. From here, two framed openings positioned at opposite ends of the space lead into the boutique’s distinct women’s and men’s universes.
The store unfolds almost like a beautifully curated private residence, encouraging visitors to move slowly through each room and discover its collections, artworks and design details.
The Women’s Collection
To the left, the women’s universe is framed by intricate macramé wall panels formed from intertwining Monogram flowers.
Appearing almost like planets orbiting the sun, the panels surround a vivid yellow rug at the centre of the room. Women’s ready-to-wear, leather goods, small leather accessories and shoes are arranged around the space, creating an environment that feels warm, considered and quietly theatrical.

The House’s most recognisable motifs are present throughout, yet they have been interpreted with a softness that complements the natural textures and coastal light of Cape Town.
It is a space that feels unmistakably Louis Vuitton while remaining beautifully connected to its location.
The Men’s Universe and the Art of Travel
Beyond the fragrance collection, Louis Vuitton’s iconic travel companions sit beside leather goods designed for everyday life, spontaneous weekend escapes and longer journeys.
These pieces offer a reminder of the House’s origins and its enduring relationship with the Art of Travel, first established when Louis Vuitton founded the Maison in 1854.

Passing through a series of archways, visitors arrive within the men’s universe. Richly toned French oak and bespoke leather furnishings create a sumptuous, cocooning atmosphere for the presentation of men’s ready-to-wear, footwear and accessories.
The materials bring warmth and depth to the boutique, balancing contemporary design with the timeless craftsmanship that continues to define Louis Vuitton.
The Louis Vuitton Winter Garden
The journey through the new Louis Vuitton Cape Town store culminates in the Winter Garden: an oasis of greenery, natural light and tranquillity.
Created to offer a unique private shopping experience, the Winter Garden features luscious planting, tiled details and artworks beneath a bamboo-inspired ceiling. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame views across the harbour, allowing the store’s interior to flow seamlessly into the surrounding waterfront landscape.
It is an unusually peaceful expression of modern luxury. Rather than relying on excess, the space draws its impact from light, craftsmanship, natural materials and a genuine sense of place.
The Winter Garden will provide an elegant setting for private appointments and special occasions, offering clients a more personal way to experience the world of Louis Vuitton in Cape Town.
South African Art Meets Louis Vuitton Heritage
Art and collectible design play an essential role throughout the new boutique.
Archival Louis Vuitton trunks appear alongside key pieces from the Maison’s Objets Nomades collection, its celebrated series of travel-inspired furniture and design objects.
These are joined by furniture from South African design and homeware brand Weylandts, as well as work by Namibian artist Nicky Marais. Together, the pieces establish a thoughtful connection between Louis Vuitton’s international heritage and the creative identity of Southern Africa.
The result is an environment in which historic trunks, contemporary artworks and finely crafted furnishings coexist naturally. Every element contributes to the feeling that this is not simply a place to shop, but a destination to explore.
A New Chapter for Louis Vuitton in Cape Town
Louis Vuitton first opened a store in Cape Town in December 2007, before reconfiguring the space in August 2019. Its relocation within the V&A Waterfront marks an important new chapter for the Maison in South Africa.
Through its carved façade, handcrafted surfaces, private Winter Garden and carefully selected African art and design, the new boutique brings together Louis Vuitton’s heritage, creativity and celebrated savoir-faire.
Set against the beauty of Cape Town’s harbour, it offers a distinctly local interpretation of the Louis Vuitton universe and an elegant new destination for luxury shopping at the V&A Waterfront.
