Inside Armani Beauty’s Star-Studded Return to the Venice Film Festival

Few relationships between fashion, beauty and film feel quite as natural as Armani’s connection to cinema. This year, Armani Beauty returns to the Venice International Film Festival for its ninth consecutive year as Official Beauty Sponsor, bringing together an international cast from the worlds of film, fashion, music and sport.

Among the ambassadors and friends of the house appearing in Venice are Kendall Jenner, Jonathan Bailey, Sydney Sweeney, Vittoria Ceretti, Nicholas Galitzine, Madisin Rian, Carlos Sainz, J Balvin, Blanca Suárez and Luca Argentero.

The newly released red-carpet images capture the understated glamour that has become synonymous with Armani Beauty. Kendall Jenner arrived with luminous skin, softly sculpted features and polished neutral tones, while Madisin Rian paired a radiant complexion with shimmering silver eyes and a glossy lip. Jonathan Bailey embraced classic evening elegance in black tailoring and sunglasses, as Carlos Sainz and J Balvin brought their own interpretations of modern menswear to the red carpet.

A Legacy Written Through Cinema

Cinema has been woven into Giorgio Armani’s creative language from the very beginning. Through costume, silhouette and fabric, Armani has helped shape some of film’s most memorable characters.

That relationship was cemented in 1980 when Giorgio Armani created Richard Gere’s now-iconic wardrobe for American Gigolo. Since then, the house has contributed to more than 100 films, developing a visual identity that extends far beyond clothing. Armani’s approach to beauty follows the same philosophy: considered, timeless and designed to reveal the individual rather than disguise them.

Since becoming Official Beauty Sponsor of the Venice International Film Festival in 2018, Armani Beauty has played an increasingly visible role in one of cinema’s most prestigious annual celebrations. Throughout the festival, the brand provides official make-up services for guests and the stars appearing on its famous red carpet.

This year’s appearances perfectly reflected that signature Armani restraint. Rather than overpowering the wearer, the beauty looks centred on luminous skin, elegant definition and the kind of subtle glamour that looks as captivating in close-up as it does beneath the flash of the cameras.

The Return of the Armani Cinema Club

Beyond the red carpet, the Armani Cinema Club returns to the Venice Venice Hotel from 2 to 6 September.

Created as an intimate space for the brand’s ambassadors, friends and wider creative community, the Cinema Club offers a place for conversation and exchange away from the intensity of the festival. It reflects Armani Beauty’s belief that cinema is not simply entertainment, but a universal language capable of bringing different experiences and perspectives together.

On 3 September, the celebrations continued with an intimate dinner at the Royal Gardens of Venice, just moments from St Mark’s Square. Surrounded by the natural beauty of the gardens and the city’s historic architecture, the evening brought together personalities from film and the wider creative world in a more private setting.

Jonathan Bailey Introduces a New Armani Fragrance

The Venice Film Festival also sets the scene for the next chapter in Giorgio Armani’s fragrance universe.

On 5 September, Armani Beauty will celebrate the launch of I WILL Eau de Parfum, a new male fragrance fronted by actor Jonathan Bailey. The occasion includes a private screening at the Armani Cinema Club of the fragrance’s campaign film, directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Todd Field.

Bailey’s presence feels particularly fitting. Known for bringing emotional depth and sensitivity to his performances, the actor embodies the fragrance’s exploration of possibility, intention and the person we may choose to become.

Speaking about cinema and the importance of shared stories, Bailey reflected on their ability to allow audiences to experience the world through another person’s eyes, connecting us through a shared sense of humanity.

The campaign brings together fragrance and film in a way that feels distinctly Armani. Rather than treating scent as a separate beauty category, I WILL Eau de Parfum becomes part of a wider cinematic world shaped by atmosphere, character and emotion.

Celebrating New Voices in Film

Armani Beauty will also present the Audience Award – Armani Beauty, Venezia Spotlight for the fifth consecutive year.

Venezia Spotlight is the festival’s competitive section dedicated to work demonstrating originality, innovation and emerging creative trends. The winning film is selected by a jury of spectators, placing the audience directly at the heart of the award.

It is another expression of Armani Beauty’s long-term commitment to supporting cinema both on and beyond the red carpet. The brand’s involvement now stretches across international film festivals and awards ceremonies, including the Berlinale, BAFTA, San Sebastián International Film Festival and Melbourne International Film Festival.

From Kendall Jenner’s luminous red-carpet beauty to Jonathan Bailey’s new cinematic fragrance campaign, Armani’s presence in Venice is about more than celebrity arrivals. It is a continuation of a relationship that began decades ago—one built upon character, storytelling and an enduring belief in the transformative power of cinema.
