Some bags work their way into your wardrobe because they go with everything. Others add something extra to the pieces you already own. The new Stevie from Mulberry manages to do both, bringing a fresh take to the British brand’s signature style of understated luxury.
If you’ve been scrolling through your timeline during fashion month, chances are you’ve already spotted the Stevie. The bag has been making its rounds across the fashion week circuit, and it’s easy to see why. With its distinctive Postman’s Lock, elegant top handle and range of wearable colours, it has the kind of appeal that feels just as relevant on the street as it does on the runway.

Launched in September, the Stevie strikes a balance between soft and structured, with a silhouette that feels timeless without looking overly traditional. It’s polished enough for the office, but equally at home with jeans and a great coat at the weekend.
Available in two sizes, the Stevie can be carried by its top handle or worn crossbody using the detachable strap. It’s the kind of practical detail that makes a luxury bag feel genuinely wearable, taking you from daytime plans to dinner without missing a beat.
As someone who naturally gravitates towards a monochromatic wardrobe, I’m usually drawn to black, grey and those shades that work effortlessly with everything I own. But the large Stevie in Amethyst has caught my eye in a big way. The rich purple feels bold without being difficult to wear, adding a welcome hit of colour to an otherwise neutral outfit. Styled with black tailoring, denim or a simple oversized coat, it would do all the work without feeling like too much.
The black-on-black version is another favourite. I particularly love the black hardware, which gives the bag a sleek, understated edge. It’s a subtle detail, but one that makes all the difference, keeping the overall look clean and modern.
Then there’s the grey embossed snake. I love the texture, and the muted colour makes it an easy alternative to a classic neutral. It adds interest without overpowering an outfit, which is exactly what I look for in an accessory.

The truth is, I’m struggling to choose. From Amethyst and all-black to Butter, Ebony and Foggy Grey, there’s something to love across the collection. Even for someone who tends to stick to a fairly monochromatic palette, the colours feel easy to work into an existing wardrobe.
The Stevie’s appeal goes beyond its colour options. Each bag is made from 28 individual pattern pieces, bringing together the softness and structure that define the design. The regular size is available in supple smooth leather and suede, while the smaller Stevie comes in Tulipano leather, suede and embossed snake.
Both sizes have been designed for everyday wear, with enough versatility to work across different occasions. It’s a bag you can carry on repeat, whether you’re heading to the office, running around London or dressing up for dinner.
There’s also a wider story behind the materials. Mulberry achieved B Corp Certification in 2024, and all leather sourced for the Stevie collection comes from environmentally accredited tanneries. It’s a welcome consideration when investing in a piece you hope to wear for years.

The launch was accompanied by a campaign photographed in New York by photographer Stevie Dance. Featuring a colourful cast of characters who all share the name Stevie, the campaign explores the unexpected connections between people through location photography and candid video.
It’s a playful introduction to a bag that feels rooted in Mulberry’s heritage while still offering something fresh. The signature hardware gives it that unmistakable Mulberry identity, while the range of colours, textures and sizes makes it feel relevant to how we dress now.

The Stevie is available in the regular size for £1,595 and the Small Stevie for £1,295.
For me, the large Amethyst and the black-on-black are firmly on my wish list, although that grey snake print is making the decision considerably harder. I love an accessory that elevates the pieces I already wear, and the Stevie feels like exactly that.
