TOZI Restaurant and Bar- Victoria’s Authentic Italian

If you’ve ever craved a taste of Italy while in London, I may have found the perfect spot for you. Nestled in the vibrant heart of Victoria, TOZI Restaurant & Bar offers an authentic Italian dining experience that feels both welcoming and indulgent. It’s name alone tugs at the heart—derived from an affectionate Venetian slang term for ‘a close-knit group of friends,’ TOZI isn’t just about food; it’s about the joy of sharing great meals in good company.

It’s been over a decade since first opening it’s doors, TOZI remains in the hands of it’s original team, led by Chef Maurilio Molteniand Senior Restaurant and Bar Manager Stefano Meloni, along with Restaurant Manager Carlo Consoli and Sous Chef Francesco Vacca. With their shared dedication, consistency, and pursuit of excellence, they continue to shape the very essence of TOZI.

From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with warm hospitality, a buzzing yet intimate atmosphere, and the enticing aroma of freshly prepared Italian dishes. The interiors exude warmth and the charm of Italy, with one side of the restaurant showcasing a spacious open kitchen where diners can watch the chefs in action, while the other side is alive with the buzz of happy guests. Be sure to take in the vintage Italian photography wall, a beautiful tribute to the country’s rich culture and history.

Once seated, we began with a cocktail each. I opted for La Dolce Vita—a delightful mix of Grey Goose Citron Vodka, floral syrup, Crème de Pêche, and Franciacorta. Sweet, floral, and fizzy, it was the perfect start. My guest chose Citrus Heaven, a beautifully balanced blend of Four Pillars Gin, Berto Aperitivo, Italicus, Campari, orange juice, and foam—citrusy, scented, and effortlessly elegant.

As we sipped on our cocktails, we took in the menu and were advised to select three dishes each, allowing us to share six between us. With such an extensive selection, the menu is thoughtfully divided into sections: Raw, Fritti, Counter & Salad, Pasta, and Grilled & Baked. The variety is so impressive that it would take multiple visits to truly experience everything it has to offer!

With this incredible selection in front of us, we began with the Raw Tuna Tartare, while my guest opted for the Zucchini Fritti. One of the highlights was undoubtedly the tuna—light, fresh, and bursting with flavour.

For my second choice, I went for the Paccheri with fresh Devon crab, tomato, and basil—a dish that was expertly adapted to be dairy- and gluten-free to accommodate my dietary requirements. I must say, I haven’t had pasta like this since my trip to Rome! Finding such an authentic taste in London feels like a true gem. My guest selected the Octopus with chickpea purée, fennel, and fried capers—a dish rich in depth and taste, with beautifully balanced textures.

We finished off with the Grilled & Baked section. We shared the Rib of Beef, aged 31 days and the chargrilled whole seabass with salsa verde. On the side, we had the golden, roasted potatoes—so perfectly cooked that each bite left us wanting more.

To finish off our meal, we were spoiled for choice when it came to desserts. My guest indulged in the fig and almond tart with creamy vanilla ice cream, while I enjoyed the refreshingly light raspberry and coconut sorbet—a perfect way to end our feast.

TOZI isn’t just a place to eat; it’s a place to feast—a spot designed for sharing and celebrating good food. And without a doubt, it’s one I’ll be returning to.
