After a brief hiatus, Thai Square Fulham has made a grand return, ready to delight its West London fans with delicious, authentic Thai cuisine. Nestled in the bustling heart of Fulham Broadway, the restaurant is surrounded by chic shops, cosy cafés, and a plethora of dining options. Conveniently located just steps away from Fulham Broadway Underground station, Thai Square sits at the very core of this vibrant community.
The Thai Square restaurant group began its journey in 1996 with the opening of its first branch on the Strand. Since then, it has expanded to 13 locations, primarily across London, with additional branches in Windsor and St Albans.
The newly reopened Fulham branch is perfect for both lunch and dinner, offering warm and attentive service. The interior is adorned with Thai terracotta friezes, paintings, and intricate silverwork, creating a blend of traditional and contemporary aesthetics.
With seating for 130 guests, the restaurant caters to even the pickiest palate. The menu features innovative twists on classic dishes that won’t disappoint. Diners can enjoy Som Tum Rolls, a fabulously fresh papaya salad wrapped in rice paper, or the Honey Pork Ribs, perfect for sharing (or not). For something different, try the Drunken Spaghetti, a bestselling noodle dish with an Italian flair and a medley of the freshest seafood.
Our culinary journey kicked off with Grilled Marinated Squid infused with turmeric and cooked Thai Southern style, served with a spicy and tangy Thai seafood sauce. We also tried the Thai Tacos, a gorgeous combination of chicken, prawns, red shallots, tofu, bean sprouts, carrot, spring onions, sweet turnip, and ground cashew nuts tossed in Pad Thai sauce and paired with crispy taco shells in a DIY style. Messy? Yes. Delicious? Also yes.
Next, we moved on to a classic Pad Thai with Grilled Jumbo Prawns, stir-fried with egg, broccoli, bean sprouts, spring onion, sweet turnip, shallot, and crushed peanuts. We also opted for the Andaman Coco, an ocean medley of mussels, scallops, squid, prawns, and seabass in a creamy coconut broth infused with galangal, lemongrass, topped with roasted chillies and served with Thai jasmine rice. Divine, with just the right amount of kick.
The wine list features a selection from all over the world. There are reds from Chile and Argentina and whites from South Africa and Thailand. The cocktail and mocktail offerings are equally impressive. The Lychini is almost too drinkable – a gorgeous blend of Kwai Feh lychee liqueur, lychee juice, and champagne – as is the Vodka Tom Yum, a creative concoction of lemongrass, ginger, fresh chilli, and kaffir lime leaves.
No Thai meal would be complete without Mochi Ice Cream Balls – light, round orbs of joy with flavours like Creamy Coconut, Vegan Chocolate Hazelnut, and Vegan Passionfruit & Mango encased in sweet rice dough. Our lovely waitress also recommended the Roti Sunday, a pan-fried Roti glazed with butter and sweet condensed milk, served alongside creamy vanilla ice cream. A sensation.
Yes, Thai Square is a chain restaurant. But chains achieve their status for a reason: popularity born from quality. Thai Square’s recipe for success lies in its consistent delivery of food – authentic, delicious, can’t-go-wrong Thai food.
