STK is a world-renowned hotspot for steak and a good time, offering an extraordinary dining experience. An evening there might end with dancing on tables or participating in a conga line around the restaurant with fellow guests.
STK London has recently introduced its new Sunday lunch menu. In the UK, a Sunday Roast is a cherished tradition where families gather and plan their day around a hearty meal. A classic roast typically includes chicken or beef, roasted parsnips and carrots, Yorkshire puddings, and iconic roast potatoes, all generously covered in gravy.
When a restaurant excels at Sunday Roasts, it’s guaranteed to be fully booked every weekend. Being a huge fan of STK with consistently great experiences, I eagerly awaited the launch of their Sunday Roast and was among the first to try it.
Since a Sunday Roast is a family affair, I decided to bring three of my girlfriends along as we celebrated a birthday, an engagement, and a pregnancy. STK was the perfect venue. The restaurant was lively upon our arrival on a sunny day in London. Located on the Strand, STK is a popular destination, just a stone’s throw from Covent Garden and nestled within the iconic West End Theatre district, surrounded by the city’s hottest spots.
We began with a round of cocktails and mocktails, including non-alcoholic Bellinis that were so delicious we had to confirm they were mocktails, and a classic round of spicy margaritas. The menu was straightforward, and we all chose the beef. When our plates arrived, we gasped with excitement. Beautifully presented, the beef was served in a giant Yorkshire pudding.
The sides are served family style bought over as several servings of honey-roasted parsnips, carrots, and cabbage, fluffy mashed swede, and boats of mouth watering gravy. The vegetables were bursting with flavour, as if they had been freshly picked from a farm, and the beef was incredibly tender and juicy. It was heavenly and among the best roasts I’ve ever had.
Despite being almost full, we couldn’t resist dessert and ordered the apple crumble and chocolate fudge cake, two British classics. The fudge cake was perfectly sweet, moist, and not overly heavy, while the apple crumble was bursting with sweet and sour fruity flavours, topped with crispy crumbs. Both were perfectly done.
Sunday Roasts are served from 12pm-4pm at £28pp.
