Nativo Ibiza – Luxury by Nature

When defined, the word ‘luxury’ is often associated with an abundance of expense and pleasure. The Oxford Dictionary says that luxury is “a state of great comfort or elegance, especially when involving great expense,” while Cambridge defines it as “something expensive that is pleasant to have but is not necessary.” At times, it is also seen to be frivolous, marked by manicured perfection.

Although it is true that staying in a hotel, with the comfort of being waited on, is undeniably a form of orchestrated luxury. Irrespective of the hotel’s tier or star rating, this privilege can still be delivered in a genuinely wholesome manner.

Philosophy

Sparing the planet’s integrity and embracing comfort in the abundance of nature, Nativo Hotel Ibizia does just this. It presents a luxurious experience rooted in the rich flora of the island. Here, simplicity is met by the exuberance of the foliage and lush greenery that enraptures the grounds. Nativo Hotel connects guests to the true essence of Ibiza, stripping back the ostentation often linked with luxury while preserving the greatest luxury of all—the living world.

From the moment you set foot through the sliding doors, guests are embraced by a refreshing and welcoming spirit of well-being. Fostering “the beauty of the wild”, Nativo Hotel Ibiza offers a place for conscious travellers who seek considerate tourism to nourish body, mind, and soul.

Hotel

The hotel is laid out as an asymmetrical complex with two main buildings. Washed in white, it is harmonious with the widespread chalky architecture that has dubbed Ibizia the ‘White Isle’ and flows through to the minimalist rooms.

‘Designed under the Wabi Sabi Japanese philosophy, where beauty resides in everyday life, imperfection, and authenticity’, the rooms are a testament to simplicity and fine quality. These bright, airy, and clutter-free spaces are thoughtfully designed with only the essentials. The beds rest low, mattresses atop moulded stone platforms, while the sofas are similarly structured with cushioned seating.

A beautifully carved wooden centre table, a mirror, a wooden shelf, and a white basin complete the open-plan room. Matte black hardware adds a touch of elegance, and aside from the mustard yellow throw and cushions, the colour palette remains neutral. Room slippers are eco-friendly, woven flip-flops, perfect for use beyond your stay, but ultimately, going barefoot is highly encouraged.

The white plastered rooms, bathed in natural light, range from the ‘Basic Dreamer,’ a standard double room, to the sought-after ‘Swim Up,’ which allows guests to paddle directly from the meandering ground floor pool into their serene retreat.

The hotel has three pools, two on the ground floor, both with a shallow end for little ones. They are enclosed by sandboxed areas, sunbeds and hammocks, all beneath the towering palms. The last is found on the panoramic rooftop — exclusively for adults. Here, guests can relax by the open-air terrace bar, taking in spectacular views of the forested Cala Blanca cliff ahead and the cerulean Mediterranean stretching out to the left.

This stunning rooftop is also home to the newly launched ‘Ritual Nativo’ wellness program. Designed to promote inclusive well-being, this initiative offers guests free activities, such as sunrise yoga, Pilates, meditation, and sound bath sessions. Alongside these sessions is an impressive selection of massages, including the profound, holistic ‘Lomi Lomi’ treatment. Based on ancient Polynesian techniques, this massage uses deep, long strokes from the thumbs, hands, forearms, and elbows to rejuvenate and release tension, renewing the body’s energy.

Gastronomy

“The vegetable garden and the Ibzian sea give way to local flavours.” — Nativo Hotel Ibiza

As a key element of Nativo Hotel Ibizia’s environment, well-being is paramount, not only in the things one sees, touches, feels, and hears, but also in taste and smell. The latter go hand in hand to complete an all-encompassing sensory experience. Therefore, gastronomy is centred around healthy eating, employing methods and techniques to ensure that the body receives essential nutrition.

Nativo

Set on the sandy courtyard, breakfast and lunch are served at the Nativo restaurant. With a beyond-relaxed approach, guests can enjoy a bowl of acai with their toes in the sand. The restaurant also services the ground-floor pools, so refreshing salads, poke bowls, and juices are on hand. However, burgers, white chocolate yuzu truffles, and cocktails are also on the extensive menu, balancing health with indulgence.

Humo

Humo, Nativo Hotel Ibiza’s signature restaurant, embraces native traditions with a focus on coals, smoke, and grills. Using ancestral techniques from the Andes, the restaurant showcases an inventive menu, made with produce that has been ecologically sourced from the island.

On the rooftop terrace, the Latin American flavours fuse with Asian cuisine, creating fiery dishes that resemble the misty, orange sunsets that frame the romantic setting.

Explore

Situated on a quiet hill in the sleepy, residential town of Siesta in Santa Eulalia del Río, Nativo Hotel Ibiza is found in a discreet location. This charming pocket of the island offers easy access to Caló de s’Alga, a peaceful beach just a short walk or e-bike ride away courtesy of the hotel. The area features a quaint strip of shops and restaurants, maintaining its quiet, laid-back atmosphere, making it the perfect retreat for relaxation.

Redefining luxury hospitality with its barefoot approach, Nativo Hotel Ibiza offers a refreshing perspective not just for the island but for the entire world of luxury. Their ethos permeates every aspect of the guest experience, from the genuinely high-level, unpretentious service to the innovative seed paper that can be planted after use. At Nativo Ibizia, luxury is referenced as an environment where every detail contributes to a truly indulgent and sustainable stay.
