You’ll think you’ve been transported to the Middle East as you sip on a Belle Epoch cocktail and feel the Lebanese background music wash over you. There’s even a live DJ every Monday evening and a belly dancer performance to truly make you feel like you’ve found a Middle Eastern getaway in the heart of London.
The Najma menu features grazing plates galore, think hot and cold Mezzeh, such as crispy halloumi with harissa aioli, Batata Harrah (think crispy fried potatoes cut into cubes with garlic, lemon, paprika and coriander, along with fluffy homemade pitta that’s perfect dunked into hummus bi tanineh or baba ganoush – dips so moreish you’ll ask for the recipe.
Combined with fresh salads like tabbouleh or the Fattouche Ma’a Kale – a true Lebanese crowd-pleaser with the perfect balance of cucumber, tomatoes, baked pitta crisps, crispy kale, radish, onion, and bursts of fresh pomegranate molasses.
Not to be missed are the savoury pastries, these seriously moreish stuffed pies – perfect for snacking on throughout the day at all hours.
Follow with flavoursome sharing platters of mixed seafood and grilled meats as well as signature plates that include Shish Tawouk marinated chicken thigh that just melts in your mouth, accompanied with beetroot hummus and charred lettuce or pan-fried whole sea bass with dakkous, sautéed spinach and a creamy saffron sauce.
No visit to Najma is complete without grazing on a few desserts including an array of homemade Baklava bites, sticky date pudding or Kunafa cheesecake being a serious highlight – it’s not only visually appealing but a taste sensation!
