Jaguar has opened the doors to Jaguar at Knightsbridge, its new permanent London flagship and an ambitious reimagining of what an automotive showroom can be.
Set in the heart of one of the capital’s most prestigious neighbourhoods, the two-storey destination has been conceived not simply as somewhere to discover a car, but as a year-round meeting place for design, art, food and culture. Exhibitions, artist residencies, installations, talks and workshops will sit alongside Jaguar’s automotive world, creating a space designed to tempt visitors back long after their first look.
It is also a physical expression of the dramatic new design language shaping the next era of Jaguar. Travertine stone, warm brass, tactile fabrics and sculptural forms create an atmosphere closer to a contemporary gallery or private members’ space than a conventional dealership, while references to the forthcoming Jaguar Type 01 are woven throughout.
The opening represents another important chapter in Jaguar’s transformation into a modern luxury brand, ahead of the arrival of its new production car.

A New Kind of Jaguar Showroom
Jaguar at Knightsbridge has been designed around experience rather than traditional automotive retail. On arrival, visitors enter through the Jaguarscape, an immersive installation tracing the evolution of the famous Jaguar Leaper and exploring the thinking behind its latest interpretation through sculpture, graphics and light.
From there, the interiors reveal a shared aesthetic with Jaguar Type 01. Natural travertine provides weight and texture, while brass accents introduce warmth against tactile textiles and precisely engineered details. Controlled lighting and dramatic sculptural forms create a sense of theatre without overwhelming the architecture.
It is an interesting proposition: instead of placing a car inside an otherwise neutral showroom, Jaguar has attempted to build an entire environment around the creative philosophy informing the vehicle itself.

Every detail is intended to convey what Jaguar calls Exuberant Modernism – bold, original design coupled with craftsmanship and a willingness to do things differently.
The lower floor houses the Design Vault, a more private commissioning environment where prospective clients can explore the brand’s design universe and personalise their vehicle through a combination of physical materials, digital technology and cinematic presentation.
The experience has been deliberately conceived to feel intimate and highly individual, bringing an element of haute couture-style commissioning into the automotive world.

Café Eighty-One Brings Michelin-Starred Dining to Jaguar
Perhaps the most unexpected element of Jaguar at Knightsbridge is Café Eighty-One. Created with Michelin-starred chef Michael O’Hare, the permanent restaurant and café sits at the heart of the flagship and has been developed as a destination in its own right rather than simply somewhere to wait while looking at a car.
O’Hare has approached the project through the same creative lens as Jaguar, taking familiar elements of British hospitality and reinterpreting them with a more contemporary, occasionally playful sensibility.
“From the beginning, the ambition was to create something genuinely original,” he explains. “The menu takes familiar British rituals and looks at them differently, creating moments of surprise while remaining welcoming and enjoyable. That’s a philosophy I share with Jaguar.”

The signature experience is a striking reinterpretation of afternoon tea. Rather than abandoning one of Britain’s most recognisable traditions, Café Eighty-One plays with it. Curated teas are accompanied by savoury courses, an unconventional take on the traditional scone and a sculptural petit gâteau inspired by the oloid – a complex geometric form whose sense of movement also influenced elements of the Type 01.
It is precisely the sort of detail that demonstrates how thoroughly Jaguar is attempting to connect its worlds of automotive design, architecture and hospitality. The café will continue to evolve through seasonal menus, visiting collaborations, curated tastings and the Jaguar Taste Series, giving the Knightsbridge address a reason to remain relevant even for those who are not immediately shopping for a new car.

A Cultural Destination
That distinction appears central to Jaguar’s strategy. The Knightsbridge flagship has been designed to host an ongoing calendar of cultural programming, from live creative installations and artist residencies to talks, workshops and events.
The result is intended to make Jaguar part of a broader conversation surrounding contemporary British creativity rather than keeping the marque confined to the automotive world.
Santino Pietrosanti, Director of Jaguar UK, describes Café Eighty-One as part of that more open philosophy.

“Café Eighty-One is designed to be open, welcoming and inspiring, bringing together British hospitality, culture and creativity in a way that feels distinctly Jaguar,” he says.
“Located within our Knightsbridge flagship, it invites guests to experience the brand in a more personal and engaging way, with every detail reflecting the originality and modernity at the heart of Jaguar’s DNA.”
There is a clear move here away from the transactional nature traditionally associated with luxury car retail. Jaguar wants visitors to spend time in the space, have lunch, see an exhibition, attend an event and immerse themselves in its creative world before a conversation about ownership even begins.

The London Home of the New Jaguar
The timing is deliberate. Jaguar at Knightsbridge arrives as the marque prepares for the next stage of its reinvention, with the forthcoming Type 01 set to embody the new philosophy in production form. Designed, engineered and built in Britain, Jaguar says the new model will be the most powerful and technologically advanced production car in its history.
The Knightsbridge flagship offers an architectural preview of that world. Both car and building revolve around the same ideas: dramatic proportions, rich materials, craftsmanship and the belief that luxury should create an emotional response.
For Jaguar, that means the traditional showroom is no longer enough. In Knightsbridge, the brand has instead created somewhere to eat, meet, discover art, experience design and eventually commission a car – bringing hospitality and culture into the automotive experience in a way that feels considerably more ambitious.
Jaguar at Knightsbridge is a living, evolving home for the new Jaguar – and a glimpse of exactly where this most famous of British marques intends to go next.
