Situated in the Hertfordshire countryside just outside of London is The Grove. A five-star Hotel home to Sequoia Spa, a luxurious choice for breaks and getaways. If you’re looking to start the New Year feeling rejuvenated and restored, embrace a fresh start by booking in this Spa day now.
My guest and I were booked in for the ‘B Clear Spa Day’ on entry after kind greetings we were presented a small questionnaire which asked us to specify if we had requirements relating to our treatments as well as allergens and any health concerns which would be tailored towards our own personalised experience.
Before the treatment began we were granted access to the Spa’s state-of-the-art facilities. Guests are encouraged to take full advantage of these before and after their treatments. We were firstly guided to the single sex changing rooms where we were provided with robes, flip flops and our own locker for valuables. The changing rooms are calming, airy and equipped with everything you may need impressively including, hairdryers, straighteners, vanity kits as well as swim dryers and bags for your wet costumes.
After changing into our spa day attire we were brought to the relaxation room to wind down before our scheduled massage. Dimmed lighting, soft and cosy beds, with a selection of calming teas to choose from as well as a featured fish tank at the centre this peaceful room is guaranteed to help you unwind, de-stress and slow down.
My guest and I were separately introduced to our therapists and led to the treatment rooms. I was being looked after by the wonderful Tianna who after a short consultation about the treatment and any areas I wanted to particularly work on began this remarkable 80 minute experience. The B-Clear Spa Day primarily focuses on the body working on areas of tension, beginning with a gentle full body exfoliation followed by a massage using Bamford products including Bamford Sugar Polish and Rosemary Body Oil.
Completing this treatment I was also given a personalised express facial which left my skin deeply cleansed, lifted and rejuvenated with products including Cleansing Balms, Refining Exfoliator, Nurturing Oils, Moisturiser, Eye Creams, Serums and Mists. Through this calming treatment Tianna was considerate and professional and able to advise on areas of tension. She tailored the massage naturally and personalised feedback about aftercare to fully maximise the effects of the treatment.
Post treatment, I met my guest in the relaxation room. We both sank on the beds in pure delight quietly exchanging positive notes about our experience. Suffice to say we were both equally wowed. We sipped on herbal teas before heading to lunch.
The Sequoia Spa Days on the treatment menu all include lunch at the Sequoia Kitchen. Located in a bright and airy room we were given choice of nourishing options off the menu. I opted for the delicious Sake Poke Bowl followed by a refreshing Mango and Raspberry Sorbet for desert and my guest devoured the Tamari Duck Broth finishing off with the firm favourite the Beetroot Brownie.
After lunch we leisurely explored the rest of the Spa’s facilities including the 22m long UV-filtered black mosaic tiled pool, an option of two Jacuzzi’s, Sauna, Steam room and even a quick visit to the Gym which includes the latest equipment having everything you need for a full-body workout.
We left Sequoia Spa having had an incredibly special time. If you’re seeking respite from the chaos or looking to have a special memory with a family member or a friend, this is the perfect experience for you. So perfect we’ve already planned for this to become our annual tradition.
