Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is Back and Better Than Ever for Christmas 2026

There comes a moment each winter when London seems to fall under a Christmas spell. Lights twinkle through the bare branches of Hyde Park, the scent of cinnamon and sugar hangs in the crisp evening air, and high above the treetops, the Giant Wheel turns against the darkening sky. Below, skaters whirl around the Victorian bandstand, mittened hands cradle hot drinks and children tug at coat sleeves, eager for just one more ride. From 19 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland returns with even more magic to unwrap: a frozen Neverland, festive songs by candlelight and adventures destined to become treasured Christmas memories.

With more than 150 rides, attractions and experiences to discover, the challenge is deciding where to begin. Fortunately, advance booking savings and thoughtfully bundled packages make planning part of the pleasure.

Neverland, Sculpted in Ice

One of this year’s most enchanting arrivals is The Magical Ice Kingdom presents Neverland, created in association with Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.

Carved from more than 500 tonnes of ice and snow, the walkthrough experience transforms Peter Pan’s world into an extraordinary frozen landscape. Visitors step through the legendary Jolly Roger and into an adventure with Peter and Wendy, keeping watch for Captain Hook as they explore intricate sculptures and scenes inspired by the much-loved story.

The experience also honours J.M. Barrie’s enduring connection with Great Ormond Street Hospital. A donation from every ticket supports GOSH Charity, helping bring festive moments to seriously ill children, from visits by Santa to carol singing with the hospital’s Chaplaincy team. It adds a meaningful dimension to an attraction built around childhood imagination.

Christmas Classics by Candlelight

For the first time, Winter Wonderland will host Christmas by Candlelight, a series of six concerts taking place between 5 and 23 December.

Inside an immersive candlelit arena, a cast direct from London’s West End and a live band will perform festive favourites including White Christmas, Let It Snow!, O Holy Night and, naturally, Winter Wonderland.

These are sing-along performances, so joining in is very much part of the occasion. For families, couples and groups of friends, they offer a chance to pause between rides and settle into the familiar songs that make this time of year feel special. Book a concert as the centrepiece of your visit, then build an afternoon of skating, shopping and supper around it.

A VIP Route Through the Festivities

Those seeking a more curated visit can book the new VIP Tour Experience, an 80-minute guided adventure for small groups.

An expert guide leads guests through a selection of highlights, with fast-track entry and a guided walkthrough of the Neverland-themed Magical Ice Kingdom, queue-skipping access to three curated rides and a head-to-head fairground game. There are even tips from the guide on improving your chances of winning.

Dedicated cloakroom access makes it easier to explore, while £30 in ride and game credit allows the fun to continue after the tour finishes. It is an appealing option for anyone who wants to make the most of their time, with someone else taking care of the route.

K-Pop Meets Circus

Also making its London debut exclusively at Winter Wonderland is Gandey’s K-Pop Dragon Circus, an all-new production combining circus artistry with the energy of K-Pop.

The family-friendly show follows a young dragon’s story through music, movement, comedy and dramatic visuals. Produced by Gandey World Class Productions, it promises an energetic addition to the festive programme, with an electrifying soundtrack accompanying the action.

For children discovering the circus for the first time, or older visitors drawn to the music and theatrical spectacle, it offers another reason to make a full day of the visit.

Familiar Favourites, From the Ice Rink to the Skyline

Alongside the new arrivals, Winter Wonderland’s signature attractions return.

The Ice Rink by Priority from O2, billed as the UK’s largest open-air ice rink, surrounds Hyde Park’s Victorian bandstand. Whether you glide confidently or spend much of the session laughing at your own uncertainty, skating here remains one of the event’s defining experiences.

For a different perspective, the 70-metre Giant Wheel lifts visitors above the festivities for views across London. It is a chance to appreciate the scale of the illuminated fairground before descending into it once more.

Those who prefer a faster pace can take on the five-loop Munich Looping roller coaster, brave the heights of The XXL, or race down the Real Ice Slide powered by JoyBuy. For a suitably frosty drinks stop, Bar Ice serves cocktails in a sub-zero setting.

Together, they make it easy to tailor the occasion: gentle sightseeing and skating for some, a succession of adrenaline-fuelled rides for others.

A Little Christmas Magic in Santa Land

For younger visitors, Santa Land brings the festivities down to child-sized proportions, with smaller rides, interactive elf workshops and what organisers describe as London’s largest free Santa’s Grotto.

The Jingle Bell Bistro street food market provides family-friendly dining, making it a convenient place to pause between adventures.

For children who inevitably want another turn, the Santa Land Unlimited Ride Pass costs £27.50 when booked in advance and includes unlimited access to more than 16 Santa Land rides throughout the day. The Santa Land Package combines the pass with a meal deal at Jingle Bell Bistro, offering a straightforward way to plan a visit around younger guests.

Market Browsing and Bavarian Celebrations

A visit need not revolve entirely around rides. The Christmas Market offers a gentler route through the festivities, with stalls selling handcrafted gifts, seasonal treats and Christmas shopping essentials.

Leave time to browse rather than rushing through on the way to the next attraction. A few presents found, something delicious in hand and the lights overhead can be enough to make an evening.

Over in the Bavarian Village, the atmosphere becomes more exuberant. Live music, DJs and seasonal sing-alongs accompany German food and drink, making it a lively gathering point for friends and a natural place to continue the celebrations after exploring the park.

How to Make the Most of Your Visit

Booking online in advance offers savings of up to 25%, with eight packages and a selection of ride passes designed around different interests.

For a day devoted to the winter attractions, The Arctic Adventure combines ice skating, the Neverland-themed Magical Ice Kingdom and the Real Ice Slide, alongside £20 in advance ride and game credit.

The Showtown Spectacular pairs Gandey’s K-Pop Dragon Circus with a trip on the Giant Wheel and £20 in ride and game credit. It includes a 10% discount on the circus and a complimentary fast-track upgrade for the wheel.

Thrill-seekers can choose the new Coaster Pass, featuring rides including Euro Coaster, Ice Mountain and The Time Machine. The Five Peaks Pass offers fast-track entry to Munich Looping, The Hangover, Aeronaut Starflyer, Airborne and Blizzard.

Also new is The Explorers Pass, bringing together the Real Ice Slide, Haunted Mansion and Après Ski Party Funhouse. Meanwhile, The Festive Favourites combines the Real Ice Slide and Bar Ice with free fast-track entry to the Giant Wheel and ride and game credit.

The Details to Know Before You Go

Winter Wonderland runs from 19 November 2026 to 3 January 2027. Visitors need a timed entry ticket, with hourly arrival slots; once inside, they can stay for the remainder of that day’s opening hours.

Advance entry costs £1 off-peak, £5.50 standard or £8.25 peak, with booking fees included in the advertised price. All Monday-to-Thursday entry slots during the event’s November dates are priced at the £1 off-peak rate.

Book by midnight the day before your visit to secure advance prices. The entry fee is waived when you spend £25 on activities in advance; admission otherwise covers entry to the event, with rides and paid attractions costing extra. Check the official website for closure dates, individual attraction details and availability before booking.

With Neverland frozen into glittering detail, Christmas songs filling a candlelit arena and the familiar thrill of seeing Hyde Park transformed, this year’s Winter Wonderland gives London plenty to look forward to.
