In recent years, Unicorn Treats have been kind of a big deal. I am not really sure still what a Unicorn Treat really means, but anything that has rainbow sprinkles and colorful is labeled as unicorn. I kind of love it since it’s so pretty and fun to eat!
Here is a Unicorn Rice Krispies Treat that could double as a birthday cake batter treat. These treats are so festive that they really could be a great alternative to a traditional birthday cake, without all the baking! Win win.
Would you take these over a birthday cake? For the ease of making them and transport alone, I think I might… but I still love cake a lot so I’m not sure. How about both?
Unicorn Rice Krispies Treats
5 cups Rice Krispies
3 tablespoons butter
4 cups-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows
Pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup sprinkles
2 tbsps neutral oil
1.5 cup white chocolate
Blue gel drop
Spray a 8×8 inch baking pan with cooking spray and set aside.
In a large saucepan, melt butter, vanilla extract, and salt over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until just melted and smooth.
Remove from heat and stir in Rice Krispies and 1/2 cup sprinkles. Stir until well coated.
Spray a large spatula with cooking spray and use to press mixture evenly into prepared pan.
To make white chocolate topping: Melt white chocolate with ¼ cup of condensed milk in a medium saucepan over low heat. Once melted, add in remove and1 or 2 drops of blue food coloring, depending on how intense you’d like the color then pour over rice krispies.
Let white chocolate cool slightly and add more sprinkles on top.
Cool completely and cut into squares.
Enjoy!
