In London particularly, you are spoilt for choice with fantastic restaurants. However, occasionally a new kid comes to town and shakes things up beyond your imagination. Heritage serves hearty contemporary Swiss cuisine, reimagined by Head Chef Aarik Persaud.
Start with the Gateway to Happiness, Uluvka vodka shaken with Green Chartreuse, coconut water, aloe vera, grapefruit juice, topped with Merchant’s Heart hibiscus water. Next, opt for the Truffle Fondue or the Charred Heritage Carrot Raclette, served with sourdough croutons and black garlic aioli with black or white truffle, depending on the season. For the main course, there is the king of all burgers, the Trenchmore Wagyu, which is decadently crowned with oozing raclette, bacon jam, sweet onion and pickles. Heritage’s signature is the theatrical Table-Top Charcoal Grill experience which allows you to cook your own meat, just how you like it at your table. The rare-breed meats are aged in house and grilled over hardwood charcoal, try the 40-Day Dry Aged Belted Galloway Chateaubriand that melts on the tongue like butter, served with horseradish, pickles, potatoes and salad.
For dessert, the Alpine cave-aged Kaltbach cheese is unforgettable, accompanied by truffle, figs and nuts or for those with a sweet tooth, try the Chocolate Fondue with marshmallow and fresh berries or the rich Kirschtorte cake, made with 70% Guanaja dark chocolate and cherry. Heritage will serve you one of the best meals you’ve ever had, one that will be so ingrained in your soul that you may tell your grandchildren about it one day.
