Breakfast perfection at The Secret Sandwich Shop

Tucked just above the legendary Notting Hill nightclub The Globe, The Secret Sandwich Shop brings an irresistible Japanese twist to classic breakfast sandwiches. Inspired by the Wanpaku sandwich, these creations are carefully stacked inside soft, pillowy shokupan – Japan’s beloved milk bread, giving each bite an airy yet indulgent texture.

Their McLovin is the one to try. A juicy sausage patty, a perfectly fried egg, crispy Coca-Cola bacon, and a nostalgic slice of Kraft cheese come together in a rich, hangover-curing bite. And they’re absolutely not holding back – everything is laced with Kewpie mayonnaise, Japan’s cult-favourite condiment that adds an irresistible umami kick.

If you prefer a breakfast sandwich a little more ‘by the book’, the Breakfast BLT steps up with crispy bacon, creamy avocado, a runny fried egg and a layer of Red Leicester for extra depth. Meanwhile, the Full English takes on Britain’s most famous breakfast plate, stuffing it between slices of shokupan with black pudding, baked beans, sausage, Coca-Cola bacon, and, of course, a fried egg.

For something lighter, Everything But The Bagel is a fresh take on the New York classic, layering smoked salmon, chive cream cheese, cucumber, and red onion into a balanced, flavourful stack. Though breakfast might steal the spotlight, their menu runs 8am-3pm, offering non-breakfast sandwiches alongside Japanese treats like Pocky. Whether you’re rolling out of The Globe or just craving something sensational, The Secret Sandwich Shop’s playful, Japanese-infused creations are worth waking up for.
