Swiss Haute Horlogerie manufacturer Audemars Piguet has presented five new Royal Oak Offshore references interpreted in 37 and 43 mm sizes and in different materials: two models in titanium, two in gem set 18-carat white gold and one in black ceramic.
The new Royal Oak Offshore reflects the solid affiliation Audemars Piguet has with a number of artists and musicians. Audemars Piguet has an accomplished and sophisticated inventory of legendary contemporary artists and musicians they have worked with such as; Jay-Z and Mark Ronson.
Audemars Piguets’ ties to music stretch as far back as the mid-19th century. To celebrate its deep love affair with music, Audemars Piguet has released this phenomenal new collection. A visual masterpiece, honouring music at its heart, the design inspiration is reflected through the colourful dials that imitate the bars that would be found on a VU meter used in studios.
This array of colours creates a delightful contrast especially with the two limited edition titanium pieces. Available in 37 and 43mm, both these exclusive models are limited to 500 pieces and a feature blue Tapisserie Dial emblazoned with the colourful equalising bars.
The watch face presents the perfect picture of contrasting colours, allowing the equalising bars to fit in entirely due to the vacant date window. The revolutionary design first introduced last year on the 43mm Royal Oak Offshore line. The 37mm model remains consistent with large polished bevels and a curved crystal.
The Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Music Edition also includes two white gold pieces in 37 and 43 mm sparkles with an array of colourful gemstones on the dial and bezel. This model differs from the titanium pieces as the background glistens in mesmerising blue aventurine which perfectly depicts a glittering starry sky.
The colours used on the equalisers are recreated through the use of a number of fine gems such as a peridots, rubies, tsavorites and green, blue and orange sapphires coined as the “Harmony”-cut stones.
The incredible invisible setting gives the impression that the stones are essentially floating. This meticulous feature is achieved through the delicacy and precision that Audemars Piguet is revered for. This fascinating process begins with incising tiny grooves into the stones, then placing them inside a hidden rail so they appear to hold on their own.
The fifth member of this wonderful collection is the black ceramic 43mm model. Limited to just 250 pieces, the titanium elements on the watch reflect the jack pattern, and the fader on the crown guards as well as the equaliser comprised of 10 different colours consummately placed onto the black Tapisserie motif illuminate the dial, presenting a state of the art viewing.
There are also interchangeable rubber straps that match respectively with the colour of your dial. This is the first time this interchangeable system has been used on the 37mm model.
All five watches come with three interchangeable rubber straps in the yellow, green and turquoise. The interchangeable blue rubber strap of the two 37mm models is also decorated with an opulent mosaic effect.
A tribute to the world of music, a gift to the world.
