My first in-person Christmas experience of the year came yesterday at Harrods, where I found myself surrounded by pine trees, festive lights and ornaments, and CHANEL gifts. The store is already dressed for the season, and its decorations make it easy to get into the Christmas spirit.
At Door 6, CHANEL has created an alpine-inspired holiday experience that feels like stepping into a snowy escape in the heart of Knightsbridge. Inspired by Gabrielle Chanel’s love of the mountains and the elegance of St. Moritz, the chalet-style setting brings the CHANEL Holiday 2026 collection to life through fragrance and beauty.
One of the highlights is Les Eaux de CHANEL Paris–St. Moritz, the newest fragrance in the collection. Created by CHANEL Perfumer Creator Olivier Polge, it captures the warmth St. Moritz held for Gabrielle Chanel: days on the slopes giving way to long evenings with friends. Pear brings a green, juicy freshness, while rose adds fresh, spicy and mineral facets. A soft musky-amber accord settles on the skin, giving the scent a cocooning warmth without making it feel heavy. It’s a lovely contrast for a fragrance inspired by winter: bright at first, then comforting and enveloping.
There’s plenty more to discover, including the limited-edition CHANEL Chalet, a keepsake box containing eight full-size fragrance and beauty creations, presented alongside five Métiers d’Art tree ornaments. For a smaller festive treat, the Harrods-exclusive beauty set pairs Rouge Coco Hydra Gloss in Bijou with Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum Intense in a knitted CHANEL pouch.
Visitors can pose for a Polaroid to take home, then continue into the Harrods Beauty Hall for complimentary makeup services with CHANEL Beauty Advisors and a closer look at the Holiday Makeup Collection.
