There are massages designed purely to help you switch off, and then there are treatments that feel as though they are actually doing something. Cellcosmet’s new Full Body Draining and Detox sits firmly in the second category.
Available exclusively at the Spa at Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane, the 90-minute ritual combines Brazilian-inspired lymphatic drainage techniques, sculpting massage and Cellcosmet’s Swiss body skincare.
I arrived feeling nervous but excited. I had been feeling incredibly uncomfortable and bloated for several weeks, so I was curious to see whether such a targeted treatment could make a noticeable difference.
A Massage Above Hyde Park
Before the treatment had even begun, the setting made the experience feel special. The spa is located on the tenth floor of the hotel, with panoramic views across Hyde Park and Green Park.
There was something quite extraordinary about being so high above London and looking out over Hyde Park before disappearing into a treatment room for 90 minutes. It immediately elevated the experience beyond an ordinary massage.
At the beginning of the appointment, my therapist described it as an “anti-inflammatory massage” and explained that the pressure would be purposeful. After several weeks of feeling heavy, uncomfortable and bloated, that sense of purpose was exactly what I wanted.

The Full Body Draining and Detox Treatment
The ritual follows three stages: prepare, treat and perfect.
It begins with a full-body exfoliation using Cellcosmet Body Exfoliant XT and Active Tonic. This was one of my favourite parts of the experience. I lay there as every inch of my body was carefully scrubbed and treated, leaving my skin feeling incredibly smooth.
After showering, I braced myself for the lymphatic drainage massage.
The pressure was deep and intense, but it was not painful. My therapist worked methodically across my body, focusing on areas of fluid retention and tension.
When she reached my stomach, she immediately identified an area of congestion and began working through it. This was undoubtedly the most intense part of the treatment, but it also felt necessary. I had been experiencing discomfort in that area for weeks, and it felt as though she had found the source of it almost immediately.
The treatment is highly personalised rather than one-size-fits-all. Cellcosmet’s therapists select a serum, massage oil and finishing body care according to the client’s individual needs.
The options include the brand’s Body Balance, Body Firming and Body Definition serums, alongside its Body Definition and Body Soothing Massage Oils. The ritual finishes with Cellular Body Gel-Cream and BodyStructure-XT to nourish the skin and support a smoother, firmer-looking finish.
At the end of my appointment, my therapist explained that my body appeared to retain a considerable amount of water. She also gave me some genuinely helpful advice on how to support my body and encourage it to retain less water between treatments.
That consultation element mattered. I did not simply leave feeling as though something had been done to me; I left with a clearer understanding of the patterns she had noticed during the massage.

The Honest Aftermath
This was not a treatment where I floated out of the spa and considered the story finished.
For the following three days, my stomach felt tender and almost bruised. I had to allow the discomfort to run its course, and I think it is important to be honest about that rather than presenting lymphatic drainage as an instant and completely effortless fix.
Everyone will respond differently, but my body had clearly been worked on deeply. For days afterwards, my body felt brand new, both inside and out. My skin genuinely felt the best it ever has: incredibly smooth, soft and renewed. But the difference went beyond how my body looked and felt externally. My stomach felt more comfortable, my digestion felt better and the heaviness I had been carrying for weeks finally seemed to have lifted.
After weeks of feeling uncomfortable and bloated, that change felt significant. The result was not simply the temporary feeling of lightness that can follow a massage. I could still see and feel the difference several days later.
The Verdict
Cellcosmet’s Full Body Draining and Detox is not the treatment I would choose for a gentle hour of barely-there relaxation. It is focused, physical and, at moments, intense.
However, it is also deeply considered, luxurious and results-driven. The combination of expert massage, personalised skincare and such an exceptional setting turns it into something far more complete than a traditional lymphatic drainage appointment.
Most importantly, it delivered a result I could still appreciate once the initial soreness had passed. My stomach has continued to stay flatter throughout the day, and the uncomfortable heaviness that had been bothering me has eased.
It is absolutely a treatment I would return to.
Cellcosmet recommends an intensive programme of one treatment a week for four to six weeks, followed by maintenance appointments every three to four weeks.
For anyone who frequently feels heavy or puffy, spends long periods sitting, travels often or simply wants a more purposeful approach to body care, this is an experience worth knowing about.
Cellcosmet Full Body Draining and Detox is available exclusively at the Spa at Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane, priced at £305 for 90 minutes. Individual experiences and responses to massage may vary.
