Beauty’s approach to ageing is changing. Rather than focusing solely on lines, the conversation has shifted towards skin quality: radiance, texture, firmness and resilience. Regenerative skincare has become one of the industry’s most exciting territories, influenced by injectable skin boosters and the continued global impact of Korean beauty.
Now, Dior Beauty enters the conversation with two additions to its Capture line: Dior Capture PDRN-Shot, a radiance-revitalising booster powered by plant-derived PDRN, and Dior Capture Hyalushot Advanced, a targeted wrinkle corrector formulated with three forms of hyaluronic acid.
Where Did PDRN Come From?
PDRN may be one of beauty’s biggest trends, but its story did not begin on social media. Polydeoxyribonucleotide, or PDRN, is composed of purified DNA fragments and has a history in regenerative medicine, where it has been studied for tissue repair and wound healing.
Traditionally, PDRN has most commonly been obtained from purified salmon or trout DNA. Its regenerative reputation eventually took the ingredient into aesthetic clinics, particularly across South Korea, where injectable skin boosters focused on improving skin quality, elasticity and recovery became increasingly popular.
The treatments later gained celebrity attention and became widely known as the “salmon sperm facial”. This helped PDRN move from professional procedures into topical skincare, with the ingredient now appearing in serums, creams, ampoules and masks.
The latest development is the rise of plant-derived alternatives. Rather than using traditional salmon PDRN, Dior has created a phyto-PDRN extracted from hydrolysed rice DNA. It brings together three key beauty trends: regenerative skincare, treatment-inspired formulas and plant-derived biotechnology.

The Dior Beauty Capture PDRN-Shot
Dior’s research identified three key characteristics associated with tired-looking skin: loss of vitality, variations in colour and changes to texture. When the skin becomes less smooth and reflects light unevenly, the complexion can appear duller and signs of ageing more pronounced.
Dior Capture PDRN-Shot is designed as an intensive response to this loss of vitality. At the heart of its formula is Dior’s plant-derived PDRN, which the House reports demonstrated 4.6 times greater revitalising power than the salmon PDRN against which it was tested.
A Pro-Penetrating Exo-Liposome delivery system provides up to eight hours of continuous diffusion in the skin. The phyto-PDRN is joined by vitamin Cg to revive radiance and reduce the appearance of dark spots, while niacinamide helps refine pores, improve texture and visibly smooth the complexion.
Lily extract completes the formula, while naturally derived refractive particles offer immediate luminosity. The texture also contains an oil with a tightening effect for skin that appears instantly firmer.
In Dior’s clinical assessment, skin appeared 25 per cent more radiant for eight hours after application. After one month, dark spots were visibly reduced by 25 per cent, while skin appeared 65 per cent smoother and 62 per cent more radiant.

Dior Beauty Capture Hyalushot Advanced
Alongside PDRN-Shot, Dior has reinvented its targeted wrinkle treatment with Dior Capture Hyalushot Advanced.
The formula is powered by patented [Poly H.A] Technology, combining three complementary forms of hyaluronic acid. A cross-linked macro form helps protect the skin against moisture loss, a micro form provides targeted action within the epidermis and pure hyaluronic acid supports the skin’s essential water circulation.
A booster peptide and protective polysaccharide help encourage and preserve the skin’s natural hyaluronic acid, while three-dimensional fibres visibly blur lines upon application. Illuminating mother-of-pearl particles soften the shadows that can make wrinkles appear deeper.
Hyalushot Advanced has been tested across nine types of facial wrinkles, from forehead lines and crow’s feet to nasolabial folds and lip lines. Dior reports that wrinkle visibility was reduced by 30 per cent after two hours. After one month, the visible age of established wrinkles was reduced by an average of three years.

A New Dior Beauty Capture Ritual
Although both treatments sit within Dior Capture, each has a distinct role. PDRN-Shot is designed for skin that appears tired, dull or uneven, while Hyalushot Advanced can be applied directly to established lines and wrinkles.
Used independently or alongside Dior Capture Le Sérum, they offer a more precise approach to age-defying skincare. PDRN may have begun in regenerative medicine before becoming a Korean beauty phenomenon, but Dior’s plant-derived interpretation takes the trend into polished new territory.
