Global Superstar Katy Perry releases First Single and Video “Woman’s World”

Since Katy Perry’s debut with Capitol Records in 2008 with One of the Boys, she has amassed an impressive 115 billion streams and global sales of over 70 million adjusted albums and 143 million tracks. As Capitol’s biggest-selling female artist, Katy is one of only five artists to surpass 100 million certified units with digital singles, and she is the first Capitol Records artist to join the elite RIAA 100 Million Certified Songs club. She made history as the first artist to earn three RIAA Diamond Song Awards with “Firework,” “Dark Horse,” and “Roar.” Recently, “California Gurls” (feat. Snoop Dogg) brought her a fourth Diamond Song Award.

One of the Boys is now certified triple Platinum, featuring the hits “I Kissed A Girl” (6x Platinum) and “Hot N Cold” (8x Platinum). Katy’s second studio album, Teenage Dream (2010), marked the highest-certified era by any artist according to the RIAA. This 9x Platinum album includes major hits like “Firework” and “California Gurls,” as well as “E.T.” and “Teenage Dream,” each reaching 10x Platinum status.

In 2013, the 5x Platinum PRISM followed. The official videos for “Dark Horse” and the 15x Platinum “Roar” each surpassed three billion views, making Katy the first female artist to achieve this milestone. “Roar” has now crossed four billion views, while “Dark Horse” recently surpassed one billion streams on Spotify, where Katy enjoys over 57 million monthly listeners and has more than 30 million followers.

The 2017 album Witness featured the 2x Platinum “Chained to the Rhythm” (feat. Skip Marley) and the Platinum hits “Bon Appétit” (feat. Migos) and “Swish Swish” (feat. Nicki Minaj). Her latest album, SMILE, includes the Platinum-certified “Never Really Over,” which had the biggest streaming launch of her career, and the Gold-certified singles “Daisies” and “Harleys in Hawaii.” SMILE has sold over 2.5 million adjusted albums with over 4 billion combined streams to date.

Beyond her success in music, Katy is an active advocate for various philanthropic causes. Appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2013, she champions children’s rights to health, education, equality, and protection. She is also a vocal supporter of LGBTQ+ equality, receiving numerous awards, including the Trevor Project’s Hero Award in 2012, the Human Rights Campaign’s National Equality Award in 2017, amfAR’s Award of Courage in 2018, and Variety’s Power of Women distinction in 2021 for her work with her Firework Foundation, which empowers underserved children through the arts.

Katy has also channeled her entrepreneurial spirit into her shoe line, Katy Perry Collections, and has collaborated with companies focusing on health and wellness. She sits on the board of Bragg, makers of Apple Cider Vinegar, and is an early backer of Impossible Foods and Apeel Sciences, which focuses on extending the shelf life of produce to reduce food waste. Most recently, she co-founded De Soi, a line of non-alcoholic apéritifs with natural adaptogens, in partnership with AMASS.

Katy recently concluded her critically acclaimed Las Vegas residency, PLAY, and completed her seventh and final season as a judge on “American Idol” following its return in 2018.
